Day Two


My Day

Whelp, I am not sure what it is that I am going to write today. I want to finish watching an anime that I started while my kid was in Taekwondo class. Then I will come back to this.

So, what did I do today to continue to meet the goals I had? Not much really and that’s the issue at hand.

Now I don’t want to mislead anybody into thinking I did nothing. What I mainly did today was try to change my thoughts in such a way as to maintain a positive trajectory towards my goals. What does that mean? Well, I have a habit of putting things off. You can see some of that habit at the beginning of this post. I wanted to finish watching a video instead of writing a blog post. Then once I finished watching the first video, I had to catch up on another series I was following but somehow managed to miss the last two videos of.

Are any of those videos helping me reach my goals? Nope, not at all. I know this and I feel it, I really do, but this is a vice/issue that I am not willing to part with yet. I honestly hope that one day something positive will happen that will make me gladly move away from the consumption of videos. But I digress.

I went for a run this morning. Not a 5K, I’m not there yet, but a little over 2 miles. While I wouldn’t call the run easy. It wasn’t as hard as I had it pictured in my mind. On this point I need the potential reader to know that I have ran in the past. I am not what one would call a "runner" (in any way) but I do run for exercise periodically. One of my problems was that I haven’t ran since January and even then I only ran six times that month and other forms of exercise I have done even less of. So, if I can keep this running up, build up my speed and add distance. I think 5k under 25 minutes isn’t much of a stretch.

 For info purposes, according to STRAVA I did 2.32 miles in 22m 23s. So I will need to add about a mile and get my average mile pace down below 8m 20s.

Food

Doing that would not be easy if I didn’t start working on dropping weight as well. I can’t say that I am eating healthy yet but I can say that I am starting to track my caloric intake and today I ate the following.

 

Breakfast

-          One large Strawberry

-          One Mango Quarter

-          Muscle milk dietary supplement

 Lunch

-          Two large bowls of Captain Crunch with berry (off brand) cereal

Dinner

-          Ruben like sandwich

o   Rye bread x2

o   Sliced beef sandwich meat boiled in beef broth

o   Two Slices of sharp cheddar cheese

o   Two slices of tomatoes

o   Spicy brown mustard

o   Buttered bread

-          Chips

-          Two Vine Tomato wedges

-          Two Mini Cucumber spears

Snacks

-          One white peach

-          One Lara Bar Lemon


As you can see, I started off well but fell of for lunch and really went into the red for dinner. Even with all of that noted, my caloric intake for today was about 2500Kcal rounded up.

I think today’s less than stellar performance is due to me setting myself up for failure. I know what I want to do but I haven’t done anything to make sure I can meet those goals. So tomorrow I will try to work on that aspect and really dive into what I would have to do to meet these goals.

Other Stuff

On a side not. I am trying to decide exactly how much personal information I want to put on this blog. While I don’t think I can become famous I might actually write something that could endanger a future job interview or run for office (though I don’t see myself ever doing that). So now the plan is to continue to post, see where my comfort is and adjust from there as needed.
